Cow
Zoologist Cow is a happy, friendly composition of crisp green apple and sweet milk with a spring bouquet of lily of the valley, heliotrope, violet and jasmine. Described by our delightful Store Manager, Michael Ryan, as "bobbing for apples in a bucket of fresh milk."
From Zoologist
Lush green pastures tumble toward the horizon, arching beneath the imposing silhouette of a mountain range. Cumulus clouds roll across a bright blue sky, their massive shadows gliding over a peacefully grazing herd. In a corner of the meadow, a tiny calf braces quivering limbs and, with a mighty lurch, stumbles up to take its maiden steps. Its velvet snout prods, rooting at its mother, until the release of warm milk signals a satisfying welcome to this vast new world.
Zoologist Cow brings to mind a bucolic scene, a myriad of scents from Mother Nature’s nurturing bosom. Innocent florals sway among soft grasses, while apple gently sweetens the soft aroma of fresh milk. The result is a place both familiar and reassuring, where warm arms unfold to welcome us into a loving embrace. A place called home.

Lukewarm, skin you’re in, embrace, innocence and a purity so unadulterated it’s almost perverse.
Unexpected but welcome, not intrusive, calming.
It has nice projection but there’s almost a bubble between that lingering presence and the clarity and complexity of scent you get when you inhale deeply from the pulse point. You can’t find it in the middle ground.
I would wear this weekly, especially in spring and fall, and intend to buy a full bottle. It is so familiar yet exciting, calming and rewardingly just beyond reach.
Great fragrance for spring and summer! So fresh yet comforting.
This is a beautiful fresh fragrance that’s slightly lactonic. My favorite of the Zoologist line
The apple and hay and milk scents in this perfume are just a cottagecore dream. It’s pastoral and sweet. Sunny and fresh. It smells like walking through an apple orchard. It’s peaceful joy in a bottle.
About Cow:
It's giving- dental office more than pastures.
It opened with some promise. Aromas of apple and something green in the grass/sage realm. Then, something stringent started to creep in. I was taken aback. It hit me like a ton of bricks. Eugenol. I'm a dental professional. We use this to pack painful dry sockets when a patient fails to clot/heal after having a tooth extracted. I know this scent like the back of my hand. It's pungent and unmistakable.
I went back to the zoologist website to reread the notes and description. It's talking about milk, jasmine, violet, Lilly, and bobbing for apples. Nope. Not at all. So, I checked the ingredient list and sure enough, Eugenol is in it. I feel like they should've at least listed CLOVE, something Eugenol adjacent, in the notes if they were going to include this. I'm not sure how Eugenol fits into a cows journey.
I only found Cow tolerable in its final throes. After many hours of wear, it finally softened and the Eugenol died down. In those final hours, it became vaguely (really vaguely) reminiscent of a tea tree shampoo.
Honestly, I wanted to just scrub it by minute 10. However, I left if for the whole day to give it a fair chance and to be able to write an honest review. Could be that my professional experience has left me heavily biased against that particular ingredient. You may enjoy it. I rated it low because the notes and description did not match the experience IMO.
The perfume does have strength and longevity if you are looking for that.
About Ministry of scent:
Love it!
I've used a handful of companies to sample fragrances unavailable to me locally. Ministry of scent is by far my favorite. The fastest delivery and Atomizers instead of dabbers. Only wish they had a larger catalog so I could ditch the others.
