This luxe aficionado-favorite brand came to life in 2003, when Pierre Montale was working as a bespoke perfumer for dignitaries, celebrities and the royal family in Saudi Arabia. Inspired by the rich array of olfactory treasures he used in the Middle East — rose, amber, incense, oud — Montale set out to become an "ambassador of oud" to France, launching what has since become one of the most collected niche fragrance lines in the world.
