Escentric Molecules changed the niche fragrance landscape in 2006 with the launch of Molecule 01, a statement of a skin scent that stripped away all excess to reveal the beauty of a single molecule known as Iso E Super — an abstract synthetic material characterized as a subtly sweet, velvety and warm cedarwood note. Cue the skin scent craze that continues today.
Working with the lauded perfumer Geza Schoen, the brand launched two fragrance collections. Molecule is a wildly popular numbered line of five individual molecules — 01: Iso E Super, 02: Ambroxan, 03: Vetiveryl Acetate, 04: Javanol and 05: Cashmeran.
The Escentric line incorporates these same molecules into more complex perfumes, using notes that compliment and enhance the beauty of the materials. And the Molecule+ collection (aka M+) features six perfect pairings of Molecule 01 with an iconic ingredient — highlighting black tea, ginger, guaiac wood, iris, mandarin and patchouli.
