Almost one hundred years after François Coty defined the chypre genre in 1917 with his perfume called "Chypre de Coty", Hiram Green presented his adaptation of this classic accord. Named after the fictional land described in James Hilton’s novel "Lost Horizon", Shangri La evokes a mystical fragrant paradise.
Chypre perfumes are characterized by a contrast between a fresh citrus top and a woody-mossy base. Shangri La opens with a sharp burst of lemon, orange and bergamot, followed by a rich bouquet of peach, classic florals and warm spices. The opulent heart is anchored by an earthy base of vetiver and oakmoss.
Hiram Green's 2022 version of Shangri La maintains the elegance of the original fragrance but is lighter, placing greater emphasis on the floral notes. Simultaneously bright and deep, the citrus opening is followed by a rich bouquet of peach, jasmine, orris, rose and warm spices — all anchored by an earthy and classic base of vetiver and oakmoss. 100% natural.
